****Rhyming- "Green Eggs and Ham"**** This website shows how to use Kidspiration to integrate technology into a first grade Language Arts lesson. I think that this lesson could easily be adapted to fit kindergarten or used later in the kindergarten year. With this lesson plan students will identify rhyming words in the element of story; use technology to share and communicate information with others; open and save a document to/from a specific folder; identify the appropriate application tof the task by name; drag and drop; review basic word processing skills (format text, edit, print).
Graphing Changes in Weather This lesson is for students in kindergarten - second grade. This lesson shows how to integrate technology into science. In this lesson the studetns are using the internet to gather data on the weather. They then record the data on a paper graph. I think that I would take this lesson one step further and have the students transfer their data to a program called MaxCount where they could create a graph on the computer.
Teach Simple Math Lessons Using Powerpoint This site offers an array of PowerPoints. It shows how to use PowerPoint as a tool to teach math. You can provide opportunities for your students to learn basic addition, simple subtraction, basic shapes and multiplication tables. This is a fun way to integrate technology into the classroom and keep students focused. I could definitely see these PowerPoints being used in conjunction with a SmartBoard. I found one PowerPoint in particular called "Fruit Salad Shapes." If you were using a Smart Board, you could have the students solve the problem and then come up to the screen and click on the shape to reveal the correct answer. Kindergarteners would love this!!!
